10:28 Summit Six lift

I have lots of great pictures of Alpine Meadows. These are not two of them and they explain why I didn't attempt to take any more. It was snowing quite heavily, about 1" per hour. Lighting was very flat, no highlights, no shadows.

On arrival, several of the lifts, including Summit, so the first two runs were from Roundhouse. Surface conditions were good, but it was hard to see changes in terrain. Eventually Summit lift started. Conditions at the Summit were unpleasant with strong winds and limited visibility. There were a number of people who simply could not locate the way down.

Once on the main groomed slope down Alpine Bowl, conditions were slightly better, but it was still difficult to judge gradient and speed. One trip to the Summit was enough.

There was not much of a queue for Scott chair, so I decided to try some runs at lower altitudes. Skiing across Scott Meadow towards Sherwood Face was mostly easy going, with some poling needed crossing the ridge. Sherwood Face didn't look much fun so I crossed back towards the base area.

Yellow Trail was (unusually) groomed and provided two really good runs before the queues started to build and I started to feel the cold.
